October Mid-Term Activities

Arts, Health, and Music in Solidarity with the Children of Gaza

During the October mid-term break, our community came together for a series of enriching activities focused on arts and crafts, health and well-being, and music, with a special emphasis on solidarity with the children of Gaza.

Arts and Crafts

Our arts and crafts sessions were wonderfully led by Nabila, with a special crochet workshop facilitated by Fiona. Children explored their creativity through painting, drawing, crafting, and crochet, creating pieces inspired by hope, peace, and solidarity. These sessions provided a safe and joyful space for self-expression, allowing children to reflect on their feelings and share their stories through art.

Health and Well-Being

We were privileged to have Angie from King’s College lead an engaging workshop on mental health and health research. Children participated in discussions and activities that promoted emotional resilience, mindfulness, and physical well-being. Angie’s expertise helped the children understand the importance of looking after both mind and body, while also fostering empathy for children facing challenges in other parts of the world.

Music in Solidarity

Our music program was led by Jacob, with the invaluable support of Iago and Asia. Through singing, percussion, and collaborative musical projects, children were able to connect, express themselves, and experience the joy of creating music together. These sessions highlighted the power of music to bring people together and express solidarity with the children of Gaza.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nabila, Fiona, Angie, Jacob, Iago, and Asia for their dedication, creativity, and time. Their leadership ensured that our mid-term activities were not only fun and educational but also meaningful, fostering empathy, awareness, and a sense of global solidarity.

Overall, the October mid-term activities were a resounding success, reminding us of the incredible impact of arts, health, and music in inspiring hope, strengthening communities, and connecting hearts across the world.
