OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Brixton Wings is a vibrant hub in the heart of Lambeth, serving as a support base for diverse community initiatives and grassroots activities. From music sessions to showcasing the work of talented local artists, our centre is a space where creativity, connection, and empowerment come together. Whether fostering early childhood development, tackling food insecurity, or offering educational programs, we’re committed to uplifting our community.

We are very grateful to be one of the recipients of the Asda Foundation grants. These grants will greatly help support and sustain our programs in the community during these challenging times, allowing us to continue making a positive impact.

Bridging The Gap: A Dual Brixhibition Showcasing Brixton’s Changing Landscape

Hosted at Brixton Wings, Bridging The Gap brought together the evocative works of local artist Lil Sullivan and photographer Christopher iCha. This dual ‘Brixhibition’ explored the vibrant, evolving nature of Brixton, a place the artists have called home for decades. Through their unique perspectives, the exhibition framed the “ever-changing multi-dynamic throng” of this iconic neighbourhood, capturing its energy, challenges, and resilience.

Brixton Wings, a lively community hub at the heart of Lambeth, provided the perfect setting for this thought-provoking showcase. Known for supporting grassroots initiatives and fostering creativity, the centre empowers the local community through programs addressing food security, education, and the arts. Bridging The Gap exemplifies this mission, celebrating Brixton’s cultural richness and the stories of its people.

Brixton Wings x The Felix Project Food Hub:

In partnership with the Felix Project and Lambeth Healthy Living Platform, Brixton Wings hosts the Thursday Food Hub a vital resource for families and elderly carers in the Angell Town estate. This initiative provides essential food support to local families involved in our After School activities and extends care to elderly grandparents raising grandchildren and isolated households.

The Food Hub addresses food insecurity while fostering a sense of community, ensuring no one feels left behind. By working together, we create meaningful and sustainable support systems, building a healthier and more connected Lambeth.
